Walt's Waltz: A Celebration of Hope

Mural Celebration & Stigma-Free Environment Recognition

Suicide Awarenss Month

September 25, 2026 | 6:00 PM

Haywood Mall, Lower Entrance (Texas De Brazil)

Join us as we gather around Walt’s Walk, a new mural created by artist Nick Burns, aka Ninja Picasso, and celebrate hope, connection, and the importance of creating spaces where mental health conversations are welcomed.

Welcome

Brandi Crowe of Haywood Mall will welcome guests and share the vision for this special space as a place to rest, connect, and spend time together.

Remembering Walt

Susan Crooks, co-founder of Walt’s Waltz, will share Walt’s story and the personal meaning behind Walt’s Waltz. September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, making this gathering especially meaningful. Guests will see a photograph of Walt alongside the portrait Nick created of him six years ago and can scan the QR code to learn more about Walt and his story.

Stigma-Free Environment Recognition

Walt’s Waltz will recognize participating Stigma-Free Environments and present their plaques, celebrating their commitment to creating spaces where people feel comfortable talking about mental health and seeking support.

Meet the Artist

Nick Burns, aka Ninja Picasso, will share the mural with guests and join us inside for conversation, questions, and photographs.

Refreshments & Connection

Guests are invited inside for refreshments, conversation, and an opportunity to learn more about Walt’s Waltz and how to become involved.

Come celebrate Walt’s Walk, connect with our community, and help us continue the conversation about mental health.

Let’s stop dancing around mental health conversations.
